I agree that he is a nutcase, and, in my case, I pursued the following strategy. I entered some search terms such as “economics, sowell” or something like that and then I went immediately to page nineteen of the results. That way, I got past all the pro-Sowell stuff that you just “know” is going to show up first. Bias and all that. (Hmmm… I think Sowell writes about it?) I freely admit that I was purposely looking for an anti-Sowell site. I wanted a site that I liked, and that I could say was a good site for me to peruse. Well, buddy, you were elected, as a result of that exhausting search. But – now that we’ve found love / what do we doooo…wid eeeeet?

    Hi Don,

I am a computer science student at UCSB doing research on social networks. For a recent work I am working on, I drew a random sample from twitter which includes you (@OTOOLEFAN). If you dont mind, it would be great if i could ask you a few questions. The questions are non-controversial and i will put no personally identifiable information in my paper. It would take only a couple of minutes of your time. I can explain further if you agree to hear me out. I would truly appreciate if you would be willing to help me out here.

    thanks,
    ceren

p.s. my homepage: cs.ucsb.edu/~cbudak in case you would like to check out.

Don — not sure if you remember me from Keene State. I was one of Pete Duchesne’s buddies. I found your blog through a post Chris Stephenson put on Facebook. I’m thoroughly enjoying reading your stuff. Really powerful stuff!

Our thesis on political liberal, conservative sites studies using twitter we would like to send you a copy. The study is on influence on social conversation and realizably of factually actual information; surveys taken with those following; and racking of those surveys. Since yours in the only site that has chosen to block us we are following this.

I was in a film with Peter O’Toole in the Czech Republic. “The Manor” available on video. If you want to see O’Toole in drag–he wears a wedding dress in one scene and dances with a young man. The “star” of the film was the producer, Martin Dejdar. Not a good film, but interesting.

    • May 29, 2011 at 12:31 pm

I will check it out! Thanks for the heads up. Any film with you & Peter O’Toole is worth watching. Your scene in “Planes, Trains & Automobiles” is one of my all-time favorite scenes in a film that is very close to my heart.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out the site!

I came across your old comment here while reading this blog account of Shelby Foote after watching the old C-SPAN interview by Brian Lamb at his Memphis home. Then I noticed your comment after just seeing a scene with you from Ferris Bueller earlier this evening!

Keep it to yourself and move on. That would be what is referred to as “basic kindness”. I’m in awe of the astute tweets that come from this source.

Great website! I will visit often. I am a liberal living in Arizona and totally surrounded by righties and Mormons. Hard for an Irish American Catholic woman, but we working on getting a progressive group started here to try to fight our embarrassing state legislature.

Really great Blog. I am a totally disabled veteran, there are actually very few of us who are totally disabled.

Needless to say. I wish the liberals would take the credit they deserve. Liberals do more to support veterans disabled veterans than the right does. The right actually hates disabled vets.

The real issue is that people equate defense spending and supporting the military with supporting veterans. Veterans do not benefit one dime from defense spending.

We rely on the VA, and the pyramid of federal and state aid programs. IT IS THE LIBERALS WHO SUPPORT ME. And not any of the patriotic charities that raise tons of money under the guise of supporting veterans.

I really don’t get involved in politics. But I live in Delaware and Christine O’Donnell and the 9/12 patriots attacked me, so I did get involved. ( Meet Sen Kerry at a Chris Coons Event ).

So liberals, take your credit, there are alot of disabled vets that understand this so please take your props.

    1. I thoroughly enjoy your tweets.
    2. You and liberalchik just retweeted that Dr. Laura suggested that kids like Trig be institutionalized. Please don’t RT inaccuracies. Trig is not autistic, which is what Dr. Laura was talking about. After 40 years of working with children and adults with various special needs, I guess I’m sensitive to lumping all together. Hey, autistism, down syndrome, whatever. I find both Dr. Laura and Sarah Palin dispicable and not good parenting models, but please don’t spread inaccurate statements by others. Thanks!

My two favorites in one place, I love it. I use both of you to combat my RWNJ friends and family on a regular basis. Entertaining, informative and a huge help with the crazies. ❤

I didn’t realize you had a site. I knew you had to be a writer though. I’ll be following your blog from now on and put your site on my blogroll later on.

Good topics and damn good writing. See you around Twitter.

I’m quite pleased to have visited this site. Later this week, I plan to leave a little story about an opportunity I had to listen to RFK speak and shake his hand just a month before June of 1968. Left an indelible impression on me.
While I’m pretty conservative, I find most my brothers often a boring lot. Liberals seem to have a lot more fun 🙂
OTOOLEFAN and I have clashed on Twitter, but rarely in one area: I’m a big admirer of his taste in movies. His opinions are much valued. And with a surname of Kelly, I’m prone to find anything Irish also much valued.

Otoolefan: Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it’s usually something unusual. But now I know why I have always lost women to guys like you. I mean, it’s not just the uniform. It’s the stories that you tell. So much fun and imagination. ~ Movie Stripes
